Gift Sukez Sukali in USA for further studies

Film Association of Malawi (Fama) President and renowned filmmaker Gift Sukez Sukali is in United States of America (USA) for further studies, having received a Fulbright scholarship.

Sukez, who left the country last week, said he was offered the Fulbright scholarship by United States of America government to pursue a Masters Degree in Film at Ohio University and that he was currently undergoing a pre-academic programme at Michigan State University.

“This is an opportunity that will offer me more insight as regards film. After finishing the studies, I will come back better and help contribute to the development of the film industry through HD Plus Creations,” Sukez said.

Asked how he will be coordinating the affairs of the association as president since he is set to be there for a long time, Sukez said he will be working hand in hand with fellow members in the executive.

“I will finish my term in June next year. I will still be operating and working with the vice president and entire executive,” he said.
